The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2000 in our college with the vision of making our department a premier centre for producing excellent computer professionals through comprehensive educational programme. The Department offers B.E (Computer Science and Engineering) course with an intake of 120 students and M.E (Computer Science and Engineering) course with an intake of 18 students. In its excellence, the Department is accredited by NBA and AICTE, New Delhi. Our Department has 25 well qualified faculty members to train the students in the path of education.

A separate block has been built in order to cater to the needs of the UG and PG students and to facilitate them with adequate infrastructure. The Department has well equipped laboratories with more than 250 computers with Industry standard tools for software development, simulation and monitoring. The department has a spacious library with reference books and other research materials for the usage of both the students and faculty members.

Various workshops and conferences are regularly conducted with government funds of more than a lakh every year to hit the current industry needs and to improve the technical competence of the students. Few government funded events include AICTE sponsored a three Day Seminar on Opinion Mining( Rs.1Lakh), Department of Science & Technology sponsored workshop on Recent Trends in Big Data and its Research Issues( Rs.6 Lakhs), DRDO sponsored International conference on Intelligence computing- ICONIC'12 with amount of Rs.30,000/-.

AICTE sponsored faculty development program on OOAD and also a workshop was conducted in the year 2011. Apart from this, the department has also conducted workshops on "Android", "NS2”, “Open source technology”, “Data ware-housing & data-mining”. Our department is constantly modernizing its facilities to adapt itself to the rapidly changing technological scenario and it was sanctioned Rs. 40 Lakhs from FIST (Fund for Improvement of S & T Infrastructure) for the set up of R & D Lab : Wireless Sensor Networks and Mobile Computing Lab.

Over the years more number of our students actively proposed and worked on innovative project ideas. As a result two batches of our students project proposal was approved and funded by IEDC with Rs.50,000 each. Our department won the 2nd prize and silver trophy in SUN MICROSYSTEM CODE for Freedom contest at National level. Last year around 15 teams of our students have participated in Smart India Hackathon conducted by the Government of India and this year 23 teams have participated in proposing their innovative models.

Our department started to organise the National Level Technical Symposium titled "TECHNOKRATZ" and has also achieved the overall championship in the symposium conducted by the Jerusalem College of Engineering. Our Department has bagged more than 50 University ranks in the previous years and has strength of 30 entrepreneurs. In every year 85% of placement eligible students were placed in Top most MNCs.
