Literacy Club

The Department of English in association with the literary club organized a one-day workshop on, ‘An Insight into the World of IELTS’ on 31st October 2022. The workshop which was designed for final-year students with the aim of imparting an insight into the world of IELTS turned to be an effective eye-opener into the challenging world of IELTS. The speaker of the session was Mr. T Johnson who has the rich legacy of training umpteen number of students and materialising their cherished dream of migrating to foreign countries for higher studies. The session started at 10:00am with the thought-provoking message on the importance of being proficient in English. The session was followed by a speaking skill assessment activity where each participant was asked to come onto the dias and introduced himself/herself. Mr. Johnson presided over the activity with keen eyes, evaluated and graded the speaking proficiency of each participant and skilfully interacted with them. The students participated with enthusiasm and were eagerly waiting for their scores and assessment. It is noteworthy that the enthusiasm and involvement that the students displayed during their speaking session was indicative of the passion that they had to clear IELTS and fly abroad.
